The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) hereby informs the general public that it will commence a nationwide revision of the register of voters to remove null and ineligible voters, such as deceased, non-Nigerians, underage, and multiple registrations, in accordance with the provisions of the law.
PHYSICAL (IN-PERSON) REVALIDATION AND STEPS
- Visit a centre designated by INEC
- Provide Voter Identification Number (VIN) or personal details,
- The officer in charge conducts biometric verification using facial image
- The data is checked against the central voter database to confirm identity,
- Any information that requires correction can be updated
- A slip/printout will be issued to the voter on completion of the process
- Message is sent to email or phone number if available.
ONLINE REVALIDATION AND STEPS
- Visit: https://cvr.inecnigeria.org
- Create an account
- Provide voter identification number or personal details
- The system conducts biometric verification using facial image,
- Data is checked against the central voter database to confirm voter identity,
- The voter proceeds to revalidate,
- A slip is generated and a notification message is sent to the voter for successful revalidation,
Note: It is not a fresh registration.
- It is for those who registered between 2011 up to 2024
- The exercise is part of the commission’s efforts to revise, update, clean and strengthen the integrity, accuracy, inclusivity, and credibility of the national register of voters ahead of future elections
- The revalidation exercise will be conducted both Online and at Physical Centers.

- 13th April 2026 to 2nd May, 2026 Revalidation at LGAS – 20 Days
- 5th May to 11th May 2026 Revalidation at RAs – 7 Days
- 13th May to 19th May 2026 Polling Units – 7 Days
- 20th May to 29th May 2026 Back to LGAS – 10 Days
- Time: 9:00am – 3:00pm (Weekends/Holidays included)
