The Governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Anambra State, John Nwosu, has pledged to prioritise infrastructural development and environmental management if elected.
Nwosu made the promise during his campaign visit to Ogidi, headquarters of Idemili North Local Government Area.
The ADC campaign train received a rousing welcome from thousands of supporters who gathered to hear his plans for the state.
Ogidi residents complained of poor road networks and frequent flooding, urging the next administration to address their plight.
Speaking to the crowd, Nwosu assured that his government would give environmental management the attention it deserves.
He said his administration would focus on long-term solutions to erosion, drainage, and road maintenance across communities.

With only four days left to the end of campaigns, the ADC continues to consolidate its support base across the 21 local government areas.

Meanwhile, The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Joash Amupitan, SAN, has assured that the forthcoming Anambra State off-cycle governorship election will be peaceful and credible, citing extensive preparations and a collective commitment to non-violence.
According to a statement by INEC on Monday, Professor Amupitan gave the assurance during the ongoing signing of the Peace Accord, organised by the National Peace Committee (NPC) under the leadership of former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar (rtd).
In his goodwill message, the INEC Chairman commended the NPC for its “unwavering commitment to fostering peaceful elections in Nigeria,” noting that extending the Peace Accord initiative to off-cycle governorship elections has played a vital role in reducing electoral tensions and violence across the country.

The Anambra Governorship Election will be held on November 8, 2025, and is expected to involve about 2.8 million voters and 16 political parties.
Governor Chukwuma Soludo (APGA) will seek re-election against Nicholas Ukachukwu (APC), George Moghalu (Labour Party) and other contenders.
