Olajuwon Obasanjo, the son of former president Olusegun Obasanjo has now emerged the new national president of Buhari Youth Organization (BYO).
It was also reported that Engineer Garba Umar was returned as the organization’s national secretary. Immediately emerging president, Olujonwo reportedly unveiled the BYO Next Level T-shirt to mark the launching of 2019 presidential campaign for President Buhari.
Olajuwon had earlier expressed his willingness to work for the re-election bid of President Buhari. In a letter addressed to Festus Keyamo, Olujonwo called on Nigerian youths to support President Buhari. He said the Buhari government is serious about the country’s development and called on all Nigerians to support him.
Recall that sometime in June, Olujonwo reportedly dragged his wife, Temitope, daughter of Lotto boss, Chief Kessington Adebutu aka Baba Ijebu, to court over domestic violence/intimidation and threat to his life.
The marriage between the couple which lasted for just a year is evidently in crisis, according to the recent development

A support group, under the auspices of Buhari Youth Organisation (BYO) has dissociated itself from the purported appointment of the son of former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s, Olajuwon Obasanjo as the national president of the group.
The group which raised the alarm yesterday in Abuja while speaking exclusively to LEADERSHIP said Olajuwon was appointed by a fake group ledby a suspended member of the group Garba Umar.
LEADERSHIP checks revealed that the self-acclaimed national secretary, Garba Umar of the group who appointed Olajunwo remains suspended by the Board of Trustees BYO on the 3 November, 2018. His name is also not on incorporated trustees of BYO as sighted by our correspondent at the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) official website with registration no: CAC/IT/63673.
Speaking exclusively to LEADERSHIP, yesterday, the chairman Board of Trustees, BYO, Amb. Ali Barakat called on members of the group across the 36 states of the federation and Nigerians to be wary of the fake group led by Engr Umar.
Amb. Ali advised Obasanjo’s son Olajuwon not to destroy or stain his father’s integrity globally and seek political relevance through genuine means not by associating himself with impersonators and fraudsters.
According to him, “Olajuwon is welcome to join us. While I cannot completely blame him for joining a fake group led by an impostor, he opt to ask for the CAC registration of the group he wish to join and do due diligence before joining any support group.”
He said anyone who wants to seek information can visit the official website of the group: www.buhariyouths.org.
Amb. Ali said it is true that the organization is restructuring to better position for the onerous task ahead but this does not allow room for dismissed and criminally minded individual mischievously highjack the plan using same to deceive well-meaning Nigerians.
